Forth and Endrick Councillor now facing a police investigation over racist tweet depicting colonial-era black people as savages and cannibals. The immediate response of the Tory Party was to condemn the tweets, where the obvious first response would have been to dismiss him from the party. By not expelling elected councillors for this behaviour the Tories are giving tacit support to racism.
Conservative councillor on Stirling Council used an anonymous Twitter account ‘@Mulder1981’ (now deleted) to make anti-Catholic sectarian and homophobic attacks on independence supporters. He also asked female users about their penis preferences, boasting about the size of his own member. He likened independence supporters to the Nazis, dismissed homeless, and attacked benefits claimants.
Conservative MP for Wells in Somerset, now re-selected and contesting in the general election. Told a Scottish child in her English school to “fuck off back to Scotland” because she said she would vote for Scottish independence. He insists that it was “only a joke.” A clear abuse of power by someone in authority and a disturbing display of politically motivated violence against a minor.
A graduate of St. Andrew’s university from England, living in London but originally from Sunderland, telling Scotland that Gaelic is not its national language, and that Scots and Lallans are mere dialects of English. Road signage was one of the few powers given to Scotland as a result of the Smith Commission, but apparently we are doing it wrong – we’re not being English enough. We need to be informed.
Warwick District Council Conservative councillor. Suspended after making racist anti-Irish comment in the context of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. He was suspended from the party for six months with immediate effect and deleted his Twitter account.
